Raku Pottery
16" diameter
PB11
These wall pieces are created by Tom and Nancy Giusti using the ancient Japanese method of Raku. Each piece is removed from the kiln when it reaches a temperature of 1400 degrees Fahrenheit and immediately plunged into a pit of combustible sawdust. The resulting smoke and flame interact with the glaze creating shimmering metallic colors which enhance the gracefully drawn figures and plant impressions.
All Raku is intended for indoor decor only.
